About me
A man with enthusiasm & research interest
I’m Luan, from Vietnam. I have been in IT industry for 6 years. For now, I’m a DevOps Engineer. People say that I’m a funny and sociable guy. I feel that’s true :)
Work experiences
Working with a start-up in Security domain. Here I’m in the role of DevOps Engineer, then DevOps Technical Prime. I’m responsible for:
- Developing and managing CI/CD pipelines on cloud & on-premise environments (AWS, Azure, VMWare vSphere, Kubernetes (EKS), KVM) using Jenkins
- Developing and managing application deployment scripts on above environments using Terraform, Terragrunt, Ansible, Helm
- Designing and implementing monitoring solution for CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure using Prometheus, Grafana, InfluxDB
- Infrastructure administration: Jenkins, BitBucket, Artifactory, Prometheus, Grafana
- Supporting Engineering teams (Dev, QA) for Jenkins build issues and infrastructure issues
- Refactoring our customer’s process with faster, more reliable CI/CD workflow from development to product release
- Ensuring daily tasks’ knowledge and technical guidance/support/code reviews for team’s members (US, UK, India, Singapore, Vietnam)
Along with the Leader role in the main project above, I also work as a SME/Consultant for Cloud/DevOps in various domains and solutions:
- CI/CD pipelines migration/development/maintenance solution between Jenkins, TeamCity, Gitlab CI
- Cloud migration solution (On-prem to AWS, AWS to AWS)
- Host/component/endpoint-based application monitoring system design and implementation solution using Prometheus, Telegraf, InfluxDB, Monit, Grafana)
- Cloud/on-prem infrastructure setup and maintenance solution utilizing Infrastructure-as-Code, Configuration-as-Code frameworks
- Research new technologies in new domains (GitOps, Cloud Migration, 5G, DevSecOps), new CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, BitBucket pipelines), conduct PoC to apply into other projects
- Conducting knowledge transfer, technical sharing, training sessions for other teams and company-wide
Working with an outsourced North America based enterprise in Telecommunication domain. Here I was in the role of Automation Engineer. I was responsible for:
- Developing and maintaining automation testing frameworks with Selenium Java, Postman API
- Writing automation test scripts, deploy and test the system on OpenStack private cloud
- Writing and managing CI pipelines on Jenkins for all testing phases (sanity, functional, performace, regression)
- Performing manual/automation testing for cloud products (OpenStack, NFV)
- Involving in new tech research (DevOps, public clouds) and start investing in Amazon Web Service
- Conducting technical sharing sessions for internal team and other teams
This is my first project after graduation, in which I was led by great mentors and learned many things that leads me to DevOps domain.
I had a part-time job here - a young start-up - as a R&D engineering until my graduation. My resposibilities included:
- Developing software for health-care solution for Vietnam hospitals
- Managing infrastructure (hardware servers)
- On-site installation at rural hospitals.
- Investigating and building demo system on Openstack and OpenShift cloud platform.
I mainly use Java for the products, beside a little JavaScript, HTML, CSS for web development.
I experienced my internship period here as a R&D engineer. My focus was compiling the integrated systems for IoT with Wifi and Zigbee.
This was the first time I use Linux and love it, learn how to compile modules using gcc, make and run my very first “Hello-world” Linux app.
Training and certifications
I joined a lot of training classes from DevOps, Kubernetes, ISTQB to Project Management in TMA throughout working. Besides, I also have some certifications to mark the milestones in my career path.

Codes
Not having much coding skill but I still spend some of my freetime on improving coding skill (Python, Java, Golang). The reason is that I have to support many teams with different languages and tools (Python, NodeJS, Angular, Java, Golang, C#)
I have some repositories on GitHub for demo/training purpose:
